Stay Dry, Sacramento!

12/18/2017 (Permalink)

Even though rain can be pretty exciting, its important to understand all weather comes with its own safety concerns. A few misconceptions to clear up, and a few tips to help you stay dry this winter.

  1. Don’t use candles when the power goes out - as fun as it might be, candles used in place of lights are actually poor light sources, and a simply made fire hazard
  2. Have a safety kit, which you can read more about in our other blog posts
  3. If there is thunder, stay in doors - Lightning is not as rare as you think, and this is only a rule of thumb for other possible dangers
  4. Keep your refrigerator closed when the powers out - The longer your food stays refrigerated, the longer you can stay indoors.
  5. Notify the power company exactly when the power goes out - The power company may not yet know that there is a service issue, and can get on the problem as soon as possible
  6. Stay as far away from power lines as possible - This includes powerlines that have been downed, and powerlines that are in contact with trees. If something happens during a storm, contact the service provider.

We hope you stay dry, and flood free in Sacramento this winter. Feel free to call us at (916) 991-1522, or visit our website for information on our services.
